Google has introduced a certain level of personalization to users that are logged out. The personalization is based upon prior search queries. This video demonstrates how searching for a brand prior to searching for a generic term will improve the position of the brand in the serps if it is in the consideration set of the next query.
Specifically in this example you will see how the website www.consolecheatcodes.com moves from the second page of the serps for the term “Cheat codes” to the first page of the results as a result of having searched for the brand prior to repeating the category search.

Recently I read a posting on Tech Cruch about Murakami going after forums for using copywritten material without a license. Isn’ it ironic how the company that was lobbying for the Mickey Mouse Protection Act to extended copyright terms in the United States by 20 years doesn’t bother to police their trademarks/copywritten characters/images in the internet coloring book realm?
Just take a quick look at some of these searches via Google Images:
We are talking about hundreds of thousands of Disney copy written images that are on thousands of sites – look at results for each of the terms above 50,000+. The interesting thing is that in many cases these images have been on these sites for years which shows that Disney doesn’t appear to be doing anything to protecting their copyrights with these violators. Some of these coloring sites are making thousands of dollars as a result of ad revenue related to the Disney coloring images. So they are in essences monetizing the copwritten pictures and are not doing any sort of revenue share with Disney.

While the # of site are countless these are the ones that appear to be generating the most traffic from search engines by leveraging the Disney intellectual property. I really like the ones like Disney Clips where they are using the trademark Disney in their Domain and then have the Disney images on there as well. Thousand of coloring book sites will continue to exploit the equity that Disney has built up by using the trademarks/copywritten material as a means of getting natural search traffic and monetizing that traffic with ads. As long as these sites continue to leverage and give away Disney IP for free to their users – they will continue to profit.

Google AdSense Network is full of unwanted sites. As long as you have a credit card and a website – Google will take your cash and show your ads. The good news is that Google has a filter in place for you to block out these unwanted advertisers… right? Yeah they do. It is just that they only allow you to block up to 200 spammy sites.

It is funny how a company has such a strict filter on their organic search results – yet they could give a rats ass about filtering out sites with temporary redirects to adult content, love calculator and other garbage ads. These sites couldn’t show up on Google organic results if you paid them but open up your wallet and Google has no standards for who can advertise in the content network and they give zero control. This has been a major issue for years and Google just simply doesn’t care.

Most publishers will join more than one affiliate program. I recommend that you join all the affiliate programs associated with any given publisher. You can essentially get paid for the same lead multiple times for the same lead by taking credit via multiple affiliate programs. This is not hard to do.
Take the tracking code from all the affiliate programs that you have signed up for. Put each tracking code into a 1×1 i-frame that is called up on the page you are using to promote that particular affiliate program. You will then essentially cookie the user for multiple programs. If they end up registering then you will get doubled paid. This isn’t hard to do and is a common practice amongst savvy affiliates. Why settle for $5 a lead when you get get $10-$15 for that same lead?
